Cherry chia smoothie


This protein smoothie is made of frozen cherries and chia seeds that can be found in every supermarket.


What is interesting that cherries can ease muscle pain (sore muscles) after an intensive workout. So, instead of aspirin, it is healthier to drink a cherry smoothie. Cherries prevent diabetes, enable better night’s sleep, affect the decrease in the layers of fat in the stomach area, and prevent the cardiovascular diseases.

3 minutes COOKING


  • 1 banana
  • 1 1/2 cups cherries
  • 1 orange
  • 1 1/2 cup strawberries
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • water


  1. Combine all ingredients and mix them in blender.

It’s no wonder that the English have their own Cherry day on 16th of July.


Little is known about chia seeds in our region, although they can be found everywhere. They are classified as the healthiest food in the world. They come from the South America, and were Maya and Aztec’s main food. Actually, ‘chia’ is an ancient Mayan word for ‘strength’. Chia seeds are rich in proteins, hence they help with the regulation of the body weight, they are richer than salmon in omega 3 fatty acids (per gram), and they have a positive effect on diabetes 2.

Treat yourself to at least a tablespoon of chia seeds per day (best for breakfast).
