Leave the mixture aside for 15 minutes. <\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<li>Thinly chop onion and stew it on butter. <\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<li>Add some thinly chopped speck (or bacon as a substitute) and stew it with onion for 2 minutes.<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<li>Make dumplings and cook them partly covered in salt water. <\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<li>Serve dumplings with beef soup (or some other clear soup) with some chives. <\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/ol>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>Speck can be found here in most market chains or Italian stores, (for example,<a href=\"http:\/\/www.menatti.co.rs\/menattien.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopenner noreferrer\">&nbsp;Sallumeria Menatti<\/a>). In case you don&rsquo;t manage to find it, any bacon, or some good quality prosciutto is more than great.<\/p>\n<p>The preparation is similar to the one for the regular dumplings.<\/p>\n<h2>As a starter<\/h2>\n<p>If they&rsquo;re prepared as a starter, there is some spinach added apart from speck, making them look even more rustic.<\/p>\n<p>Dressing is also an inevitable element in the starter.<\/p>\n<p>Italians didn&rsquo;t try to make it complicated this time, so they simply melted some butter as a traditional dressing for dumplings with speck and spinach.
