Don&rsquo;t&nbsp;lose your time, make your own pesto \ud83d\ude42 .<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5914\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" style=\"width: 610px;\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5914 size-full\" title=\"Pesto Recipe\" src=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Domaci-pesto-L1.png\" alt=\"Pesto Recipe\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5914\"><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-5914\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Green pesto sauce<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Recipe variations<\/h2>\n<p>Generally, when you say pesto, it usually associates you with something <strong>green<\/strong>. It is actually a green sauce, but it can be found in several combinations, starting with the ones less obvious to us, in taste.<\/p>\n<p>For example: using <strong>Parmigiano Reggiano<\/strong> cheese instead of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Grana_Padano\" rel=\"nofollow noopenner noreferrer\">Grana Padano&nbsp;<\/a>and <strong>Pecorino Sardo<\/strong>, instead of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pecorino_Romano\" rel=\"nofollow noopenner noreferrer\">Pecorino Romano.&nbsp;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>There is a similar sauce in France too, it is just not made with pine nuts, or any other kind of nuts. However, they also use cheese. That sauce is called <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pistou\" rel=\"nofollow noopenner noreferrer\">&bdquo;pistou&ldquo;<\/a>&nbsp;and it is only made with basil, garlic and olive oil. They use their sauce in soups. There is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.davidlebovitz.com\/soupe-au-pistou-french-vegetable-soup-recipe\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopenner noreferrer\">soup&nbsp;<\/a><\/span><\/span>au pistou<u>,<\/u> or in minestrone for example, but they also put it in the soup immediately before they serve it.<\/p>\n<p>Then, there is also a variation of using a mixture of basil and mint instead of only basil and using walnut instead of pine nuts which are more expensive.<\/p>\n<p>There is also&nbsp;<strong>Pesto alla calabrese&nbsp;<\/strong>pepper and red pepper <strong>and&nbsp;pesto alla siciliana, <\/strong>a Sicilian version with tomato, almond, less basil and sometimes with hot pepper.<\/p>\n<p>This is our <strong>Pesto alla Srbinese \ud83d\ude42<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Saving<\/h2>\n<p>I am persistent in saving. I don&rsquo;t throw away food anymore. Constantly, I use <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/weekly-meal-planner-eng.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopenner noreferrer\">Weekly-meal-planner<\/a><\/span><\/span>&nbsp;and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Grocery-shopping-list.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopenner noreferrer\">Grocery-shopping-list<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>There was something left of this red pepper which I intended for a quick salad during the week. I won&rsquo;t throw it away since I&rsquo;ve already decided to make pesto with roasted red pepper that can be used in different ways.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5902\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" style=\"width: 610px;\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5902 size-full\" title=\"Pesto sauce recipe\" src=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Pesto-od-pecenih-paprika_9L.png\" alt=\"Pesto sauce recipe\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5902\"><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-5902\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Roasted red pepper<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Roasted pepper pesto<\/h2>\n<h3>Pesto alla Srbinese<\/h3>\n<p>Based on the aroma coming from my house, the neighbors can conclude that we eat a lot of ajvar because we roast red pepper all the time.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5896\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" style=\"width: 610px;\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5896 size-full\" title=\"Pesto sauce recipe\" src=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Pesto-od-pecenih-paprika_3L.png\" alt=\"Pesto sauce recipe\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5896\"><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-5896\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ingreadience<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>However, although most of it becomes ajvar, we don&rsquo;t only prepare it. This time, I am roasting some red pepper for Pesto alla Srbinese.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5899\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" style=\"width: 610px;\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5899 size-full\" title=\"Pesto sauce recipe\" src=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Pesto-od-pecenih-paprika_6L.png\" alt=\"Pesto sauce recipe\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5899\"><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-5899\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Everything fresh, best pesto<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>There are walnuts, garlic and basil (or without it) for a vegetarian pesto alla Srbinese option. For a non-vegetarian version, I use goat cheese. My version of goat cheese was with porcini mushrooms, but you can certainly make it without them.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5906\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" style=\"width: 610px;\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5906 size-full\" title=\"Pesto sauce recipe\" src=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Pesto-od-pecenih-paprika_13L.png\" alt=\"Pesto sauce recipe\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5906\"><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-5906\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Best pesto sauce with goat cheese<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>You can switch half of red peppers with beans for a vegetarian version. It is another home-made combination of flavors, just make sure you use the white beans (the ones from the can do too).<\/p>\n<p>Preparation is not difficult&hellip; put everything in blender and mix. You will only need additional 15 minutes if you don&rsquo;t already have some roasted red pepper.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5903\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" style=\"width: 610px;\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5903 size-full\" title=\"Pesto sauce recipe\" src=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Pesto-od-pecenih-paprika_10L.png\" alt=\"Pesto sauce recipe\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5903\"><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-5903\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Pesto on sandwich with avocado<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Options with pesto sauce<\/h2>\n<p>You can use&nbsp;for breakfast time like a top on the toast or whole wheat bread.<\/p>\n<p>If you put pesto in a jar, you can keep it for up to seven days in the fridge. Your lunch during the week is guaranteed.<\/p>\n<p>When you don&rsquo;t have so much time for cooking during the week, you can only boil some pasta and cover with pesto, fresh basil, and parmesan cheese.<\/p>\n<p>One more option is to make a dough for croissants or use puff pastry from the supermarket, then greased with pesto very thin layer, roll it and put in the oven.
