If you’re one of those that like glamour, fancy restaurants and high heels on a summer holiday, then a holiday on Pelion can be quite a catastrophe.<\/p>\n

There’s simply none of that on Pelion…it’s as if the time had stopped there…and instead it works for you in order to have a good rest.<\/p>\n

<\/iframe><\/p>\nWhat we had on Pelion were good and quality sleep and rest, beaches like those from the best postcards, slow walks by the sea or through traditional villages, dinners at local and simple Greek restaurants and enjoyment in traditional Greek music.<\/p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Juzni-Pelion-Grcka-2016_28L.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8538 size-full\" title=\"Pelion beaches and things to do\" src=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Juzni-Pelion-Grcka-2016_28L.jpg\" alt=\"Pelion beaches and things to do\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\"><\/a><\/p>\nForget about evening dresses and high heels, bring flip-flops, shorts and T-shirts…and one or two sweaters because the nights are chilly…that’s why you’ll have the best sleep ever.<\/p>\nThere aren’t any beach umbrellas and deck chairs nor cafes at most of them…you only have what you bring with you.<\/p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Platania-Pelion-Grcka-2016_33L.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8559 size-full\" title=\"Pelion beaches and things to do\" src=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Platania-Pelion-Grcka-2016_33L.jpg\" alt=\"Pelion beaches and things to do\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\"><\/a><\/p>\nBeside good sleep, we also ate very healthy, so that additionally boosted our impression of a good and quality holiday, worth repeating again.<\/p>\nYou already know very well that I don’t go anywhere without my Breville<\/strong> \ud83d\ude42 Breakfast is the most important, and this one is good for staying in shape. Those of you who don’t really take care of it that much can find traditional Greek pies in a nearby bakery.<\/p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Platania-Pelion-Grcka-2016_4L.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8483 size-full\" title=\"Pelion beaches and things to do\" src=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Platania-Pelion-Grcka-2016_4L.jpg\" alt=\"Pelion beaches and things to do\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\"><\/a><\/p>\nAnd then you sit on your terrace as one of the few tourists and already after day 2 you became one of the villagers…and then…while eating breakfast or drinking coffee you’re starting to say hello and bye to them, and they to you…Kalimera (καλημέρα) , Kalispera (καλησπέρα).<\/p>\nIn the following paragraphs, you can read about all that impressed us so much…<\/p>\n<h2>Pelion beaches and things to do<\/h2>\nWe’ll start from Agios Georgios in the more northern part, all the way to the Paleo Trikeri island which is located in the bay where Volos is.<\/p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Mapa-plaza.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8597\" src=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Mapa-plaza.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1044\" height=\"650\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Agios Georgios<\/h3>\nA small village, with a few dozen houses, one beach and two restaurants and a pastry shop on the beach…<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_8576\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8576\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Severni-Pelion-Grcka-2016_19L.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8576 size-full\" title=\"Pelion beaches and things to do\" src=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Severni-Pelion-Grcka-2016_19L.jpg\" alt=\"Pelion beaches and things to do\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\"><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-8576\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ag. Meet the owner of the tavern (leaned against a pillar)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nFish is always fresh, only just fished out from the sea, the host is a real host…he fights for every guest…and makes room for you at the restaurant even where there isn’t any…and on the very beach…Isn’t romantic?<\/p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Severni-Pelion-Grcka-2016_4-L.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8573 size-full\" title=\"Pelion beaches and things to do\" src=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Severni-Pelion-Grcka-2016_4-L.jpg\" alt=\"Pelion beaches and things to do\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\"><\/a><\/p>\nWhat I suggest you should try is on the pictures. And when you get here, take a taxi boat to Skiathos.Why miss the chance and not go for a swim on Skiathos at least once.<\/p>\n<h3>Ftelia beach<\/h3>\nIt’s characteristic for its sand color.<\/p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Platania-Pelion-Grcka-2016_13L.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8555 size-full\" title=\"Pelion beaches and things to do\" src=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Platania-Pelion-Grcka-2016_13L.jpg\" alt=\"Pelion beaches and things to do, Ftelia\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\"><\/a><\/p>\nYou can get to it by a taxi boat. We liked coming to this beach the most and that’s where we spent the most time. There were never more than two anchored boats, so the privacy was guaranteed. Bring your beach umbrella and towels and enjoy one morning on this beach.<\/p>\n<h3>Magnasia<\/h3>\nIt’s located right next to Platania. You can reach it with a taxi boat or by car. You can go by car all the way to the beach.<\/p>\n<h3>Beach in Platania<\/h3>\nPlatania has two bigger beaches. You can reach any of these two beaches on foot if you’re staying on Platania. Everything is very close by.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_8569\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8569\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Platania-Pelion-Grcka-2016_53L.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8564 size-full\" title=\"Pelion beaches and things to do\" src=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Platania-Pelion-Grcka-2016_53L.jpg\" alt=\"Pelion beaches and things to do\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\"><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-8564\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">You can use a taxi boat as an option to get to the beach, though you can also go on foot…a good half an hour trekking right along the Platania’s beaches<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nThere are a few kilometers to go, but it’s perfect for keeping fit in that half an hour walk, uphill downhill. Trekking on Pelion \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_8561\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8561\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Platania-Pelion-Grcka-2016_44L.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8561 size-full\" title=\"Pelion beaches and things to do\" src=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Platania-Pelion-Grcka-2016_44L.jpg\" alt=\"Pelion beaches and things to do\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\"><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-8561\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mikros beach<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nPicturesque and very interesting traditional Greek villages \n<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Trikeri village (on the hill)<\/h3>\nThere’s a magnificent view of the sea from the hill. Traditional Greek village had a large role in the 1821 Greek revolution as well, as the most courageous sailors came from them. The architecture is very interesting for one regular Greek village on the hill. It’s located in Pagasitic Bay or as I would put it simply the bay where Volos is.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_8551\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8551\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Trikala-Pelion-Grcka-2016_9L.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8551 size-full\" title=\"Pelion beaches and things to do\" src=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Trikala-Pelion-Grcka-2016_9L.jpg\" alt=\"Paleo Trikeri\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\"><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-8551\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Anchoring<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nBelieve it or not, there are only 15 residents…and no roads or cars…You can reach it only by boat.<\/p>\nThis is for the taxi boat option which you need to take from some of the villages close to the very island. Taxi boat from Platania will not take you to Trikeri island because it’s pretty far away, and the sea can get quite vivacious.<\/p>\nBut there’s a restaurant, two of them actually.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_8547\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8547\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a height=\"800\"><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-8548\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Squids<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nWe had our transportation on water, and that’s how we visited those parts of Pelion you can’t get to by car, but for those of you who don’t have your own transportation there’s always an option…you can board<\/p>\n<h3><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/elisabet.cruises\" rel=\"nofollow noopenner noreferrer\">Elisabet Cruises<\/a><\/span><\/h3>\nThe boat gets to Platania, picks up tourists and drives further and visits other islands…Skopelos, Skiathos…Evia..<\/p>\nIt’s always dynamic and very lively on the boat…I often heard and saw people dancing traditional Serbian dance called “kolo” \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Platania-Pelion-Grcka-2016_36L.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8560 size-full\" title=\"Pelion beaches and things to do\" src=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Platania-Pelion-Grcka-2016_36L.jpg\" alt=\"Pelion beaches and things to do\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\"><\/a><\/p>\nBut this is not the end…there are always options..you just have to choose the right one<\/p>\n<h3>Lafkos in the hills<\/h3>\nWhen we grew tired of sailing, beaches, and sun we started exploring the continental part as well.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_8546\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8546\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Lafkos-Pelion-Grcka-2016_5L.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8546 size-full\" title=\"Pelion beaches and id=\"caption-attachment-8546\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The central square<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nWhat I recommend is to visit this village in the hills.<\/p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Lafkos-Pelion-Grcka-2016_3L.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8544 size-full\" title=\"Pelion beaches and things to do\" src=\"http:\/\/savourytrips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Lafkos-Pelion-Grcka-2016_3L.jpg\" alt=\"Pelion beaches and things to do\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\"><\/a><\/p>\nThey often organize Greek evenings with Greek music in open space, so I suggest you make a reservation in advance in one of the central restaurants.<\/p>\n<a
