One sip of this green elixir of youth is enough to get me started with my this week’s to-do list filled with energy.
I did a lot of research on how to have at least a small influence on the glow of my skin in the most natural way. Years and winter have left consequences on it. During the research, I found out about different things, and ‘beauty’ resources: salmon, nuts, broccoli, avocado…
This time, kale caught my attention. Kale is currently ‘in’ worldwide, especially as one of the smoothie combinations. Although at first I thought, ‘yuck’, terrible… who could eat, i.e. drink that; the amount of recipes and recommendations made me try it in some combinations after all. Since then, I prepare and drink it on regular basis, and the changes on my skin are very visible.
Kale has a positive impact on elimination of toxins from the body. It is a good antioxidant, which protects us from different types of cancer. It should be consumed raw, every day. The combination with which it is made isn’t important, it can be drunk with omelet, salads, freshly made juices, smoothies. It is filled with vitamins (A, B, C, K), calcium, so it needn’t be boiled, because they then lose the vitamins. It has little calories, a lot of iron and zero fats.
The rest for kale smoothie
My suggestion is to add mango and pineapple, because it helps our skin glow, and coconut water hydrates it and makes our skin even younger.
In case you prefer a colder variation, kale is great when frozen. You can determine the thickness of your elixir of youth by the amount of liquid that you add to the fruit mixture. The kind of liquids can be changed to your own taste. In this venture, I added papaya as well (but lowered the amount of mango for ½ because of it), because I had some at home, and I didn’t want it to go to waste, and I added kiwi for the green color. If you want as little calories as possible, exchange it with water.
Bon appetite 🙂
